PHOTOGRAPHIC FEDERATION OF LONG ISLAND HONORS NOMINATION GUIDELINES – DEC 15, 2016
HONORS PROCEDURES
Applications are made by a Proposer plus 2 endorsers using the attached Nomination Form. A one page description from the proposer and each of the endorsers outlining why the candidate is deserving of the award must accompany the nomination form. Any PFLI member in good standing may act as a proposer or endorser. The candidate does not have to be from the proposer’s club. The candidate should not have knowledge of the nomination. The proposer and the endorsers should have personal knowledge of the nominee’s achievements and present them in a clear and unbiased manner. The information should be factual. The use of flattery or exaggeration should be avoided. Some examples of information that could be furnished are as follows;
1. PFLI offices and/or Committee Memberships held.
2. Photographic honors or awards received.
3. Shows, salons and competitions judged.
4. Lectures, demonstrations and courses taught.
5. Published articles, papers or books.
6. Any other actions dedicated toward the PFLI objectives.
Applications will be reviewed by the Honors Committee. If an application does not contain sufficient information, it may be returned for re-submission. The Committee will treat all information in the strictest confidence. At the end of its evaluations, all applications and supporting documents will be destroyed. Members of the Honors Committee may act as proposers or endorsers.
The Honors Committee shall consist of 3 current PFLI members who have attained the FPFLI designation. The proposals are due to the Committee Chairman by the last day of January.
Merchants who have provided exceptional service to PFLI members may be nominated for Service Award Honors.
